SYNDROME OF MR. ROACH IS BASED UPON AN IMPORTANT DRAMATIC WORK NEED TO EXPRESS INJUSTICES AND DISCRIMINATION MR. ROACH FACES AS SOON AS HE RETURNS HOME FROM FIGHTING AGAINST ENEMIES IN VIETNAM BUT NOW FIGHTING DOMESTIC ENEMIES AT HOME. MR. ROACH WAS RACIAL PROFILE REPEATEDLY DURING HIS ACTIVE DUTY AND WRONGFUL CONVICTED DURING HIS ACTIVE NAVAL RESERVE. MR. ROACH WAS AN EASY TARGET BY BIAS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS WHO ALWAYS PERSECUTE, PROOF HE WAS STILL ON ACTIVE DUTY OR ON ACTIVE RESERVE TRAINING.
MR. ROACH COULD NOT EVER HAVE PEACE WITH HIS NEW GIRLFRIEND, AND PEACE WITH HIS FORTHCOMING JOBS, MOSTLY DUE TO RACIAL/EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION AND HIS PAINS AND SUFFERING UNDER AMERICA SYSTEMIC ABUSE AND DISCRIMINATION ON LEAVE.
MR. ROACH IS LOVED BY HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO WELCOME HIM HOME, AFTER BEING FALSELY ARRESTED AND CONVICTED WITH PREDATORY FINES.

From racial profiling and wrongful convictions to substandard housing, limited job opportunities, and systemic abuse within the Veterans Affairs system—particularly at the San Diego, California Regional Office—this book exposes the painful truth too often ignored.
Through the lens of his Vietnam combat service, active duty, and reserve experiences, the author confronts the injustices endured before, during, and after military service. This is not just a story of struggle—it’s a call for recognition, accountability, and justice.
Current Work & Future Projects
Cole Is Currently At Work On A Second Novel Exploring Themes Of Intergenerational Trauma And The Search For Identity In The Face Of Fractured Family Histories. Set Against The Backdrop Of A Small Coastal Town, The Story Follows Three Generations Of Women As They Uncover Long-Buried Secrets That Reshape Their Understanding Of Who They Are.
In Addition To Fiction Writing, Cole Is Developing A Series Of Personal Essays About The Intersection Of Clinical Psychology And Creative Writing, Examining How Stories—Both The Ones We Tell Ourselves And The Ones We Share With Others—Shape Our Healing And Growth.
